Other species of antelope like the Steenbok Raphicerus campestris and Common Duiker Sylvicapra grimmia are often spotted on these routes. Bat-eared Fox Otocyon megalotis and Cape Fox Vulpes chama (both very nocturnal) are sometimes spotted along the road, so is Black-backed Jackal Canis mesomelas.

Yellow Mongoose cynictic penicillata is often present during the day. African Wild Cat Felis silvestris lybica—not to be confused with feral cats— and Striped Polecat Ictonyx striatus are also common nightly visitors and is best left well alone. Honey Badger Mellivora capensis has been spotted in the area too.

NAMAQUALAND FLOWER ROUTES
